Description

Never so different and never so near, it would come to say: Mattia is an expression of a pure, vital dance, a body that is a narration. Julie Anne Stanzak represents a history of dance theatre, a great interpreter, longtime partner of Pina Bausch. This duet is the history about this. Two solitude, two fragility that meet, search and reject each other.

Description

Dance theatre adapted from Pirandello’s “Six Characters in Search of an Author”: a drama of the personal search for self-realization, for identity and for existential legitimization. Pirandello's play on miscommunication, the social masks we wear, the roles we play... which we all think of as static but which are in constant transformation.

Description

The angels say they know what people mean by feelings, but they are incapable of experiencing emotions themselves.

The key questions of the show are: the value of life, the gravity of it, the bleeding wounds, the impermanence of love. A life to be dreamed of, without being able to realize it.

Press Comments & Testimonials

"The beginning is hypnotic, then explodes a cathartic ritual dancing to rhythmic images and musical paintings...
a poetic and poignant performance"  (Il Sole 24 ore – Milan)

Professionally, deliberately, and passionately, the performers with disabilities rub out any kind of voyeuristic pity and lift us with the wings of the theatre." (La Repubblica - Milan)

Dance in this piece gets under your skin with archaic dramatic”.. (FF Magazin)

"With the security of a dreamer Antonio Viganò embarks on a journey along a narrow path which combines humour and concern with the free association with the historic material in a natural manner. In its approach this tragic comedy reminds one a bit of the celebrated holocaust movie “La vita est bella” by Roberto Begnini. It is a roller coaster of emotions.” (FF Magazin)

The performance is touching, funny and memorable” (Salto BZ)

"Touching, surprising performance. Extraordinary as the extraordinary performer.(Festival la Mostra d'Igualada).
