Dançando com a Diferença
Dançando com a Diferença’s daily challenge is to change the image society has of the disabled and to carve out a space for human diversity within the professional universe of the contemporary arts.
Students and performers/dancers are helped throughout this formative process with support that is therapeutic, educational and above all of an aesthetic-artistic nature.
They seek to encourage the productive and creative potential and professional development of inclusive groups.
They believe in teamwork, the development of society towards enhancing abilities and in the non-discrimination of people with disabilities through inclusion in the most diverse social sectors.
With vast experience in teaching and forming people, they have produced a huge range of artistic performances throughout Europe. They have worked with numerous European partners on Grundtvig Lifelong Learning Programme, creating artistic shows and lecturing classes to both teachers and students.
They have been the subject of several academic studies in the field of inclusive dance, giving back some of the practical knowledge acquired over the years, and contributing thus to not only bring awareness to the issues relating to inclusive dance but also promoting new standards.
