Moomsteatern
Moomsteatern is a professional theatre company based on seven actors with learning-disabilities, on stage often integrated with non-disabled actors and situated in Malmö, Sweden. Since Moomsteatern was established in 1987, they’ve had the expressed goal to work with artistic objectives, banning all therapeutic and social aims. This means that the focus group is always the audience, the story and the art. The sole aim of Moomsteatern is to produce performing arts of high artistic quality.
The theatre is legally a Foundation, with 15 employees including artists, technical staff and administration. The actors with learning-disabilities are employed on a full-time basis with salaries and conditions of employment based on the collective agreements relevant to the performing arts in Sweden. They are trained at the national Theatre Academy and members of the Swedish Actors Guild. For each theatre production Moomsteatern collaborates with professional guest artists, musicians, directors, scenographers and costume designers.
Moomsteatern does two or three theatre productions each year, and the target groups span from young children, to teenagers and adults. Moomsteatern’s main audience is in Sweden, but they also tour around Europe and the rest of the world.

Fix You

Description: A short film by Martin Kullberg based upon the play Fix You written for Moomsteatern by Mikaela Javinger. With Therese Kvist as Sara.
A film about inner pain, severe anxiety, self-harm and hope - the hope that forces us to continue even when we want to let go. About the young woman Sara, who struggles to survive her internal darkness. Shifting between hope and despair, depression and euphoria her way to endure is to hurt herself. A gripping and honest insight.
