A series of workshops for disabled and non-disabled dancers in Poland, organised by the Institute of Music and Dance in Warsaw and the British Council.
The programme will consist of:
- 3 group online meetings; each meeting will last approximately 1.5 hours;
- 1 creative workshop spread across three days in Warsaw.
Several disabled artists selected during the meetings will be invited to individual mentoring sessions with internationally renowned dance artist Claire Cunningham.

Online group meeting with Claire Cunningham
Subject of the meeting: the starting point will be a podcast featuring Claire Cunningham, Tanja Erhart and Konrad Kurowski (of Lublin Dance Theatre).
The meeting will be an introduction to Claire and Tanja’s artistic practices, an opportunity to learn more about important concepts that manifest in their work, how both dancers have developed their international networks, and the different ways in which producers can support disabled artists.

Workshops with Paulina Wycichowska and Katarzyna Żeglicka at the Center for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle in Warsaw
The meeting will be held in Polish. Activities requiring no physical contact will be proposed during the laboratory.

Online group meeting with Claire Cunningham
Subject of the meeting: the starting point for the conversation will be a text written by Claire Cunningham. We’ll talk about developing artistic concepts, identifying what makes you feel strong in your practice, and how to make use of peer critique and feedback.

Subject of the meeting: the starting point for the conversation will be a short film from Candoco featuring a discussion on how to approach more challenging thematic material and how to gain confidence in your creative practice. We will also talk about how to keep a fresh approach when developing new work.
