Dansfunk 2022

Date: November 8, 2022 - November 14, 2022
Location: Sweden

Skånes Dansteater is continuously working towards developing and challenging dance as an artform. One part of this work is our annual festivals and conferences examining and exploring different aspects of dance.

As one of Swedens’s leading organisations in dance and disability, we invite you to our fourth DansFunk Festival in November 2022. ”Aesthetics of Access” is a new approach towards accessibility within performing arts. In this method accessibility is not limited to a number of add-on activities for disabled audiences. It places accessibility at the heart of the creative process influencing and developing everything from initial ideas to finished performance.

”Aesthetics of Access” enhances experiences for all audiences and develops the art form. In this year’s DansFunk we explore the concept by presenting a guest performance, workshops and hosting a conference which will be livestreamed on Vimeo.

We are pleased to present Un-Label Performing Arts Company from Germany. They have continuously worked in an inclsive practice druing several years. By challenging common perceptions of body, space and society they expand the norms and conventions withing contemporary performing arts.

Druing these intense few festival days we aim to share inspiration how to create with aesthetics of access methods, practical knowledge how organisations and artistic leaders kan adopt more inclusive processes already in the creative phase.
