Website: CODA Dance Festival
CODA’s aim for EBA is to support disabled artists in the Norwegian dance sector and develop new talent, as there are currently so few opportunities for training and professional development for disabled artists. Its measure for success is that in 5 years’ time, disabled artists will be presented every season in every dance venue in Oslo, not just in the festival itself. In addition to participating in all Work Packages, CODA is responsible for WP2 Creative Collaboration and Decision-Making, hosting two face-to-face International Laboratories for emerging and mid-career artists.
CODA is one of the largest contemporary dance festivals in the Nordics.
Each October, the festival gathers the best of national and international contemporary dance, presenting work in all the main dance venues in Oslo as well as in unexpected places including in bars and on the streets.
The festival values inclusion and access for a broad audience through engaging performances, workshops, seminars, talks and social gatherings. It is seen as a national leader not just in the field of inclusive dance, but in arts and disability generally, with strong links to the Arts Council Norway and other national and regional funders.
It also acts as the project’s formal link with Big Pulse Dance Alliance, being a partner in both cooperation projects.
