Accessibility at Oriente Occidente Dance Festival 2020

Part of Europe Beyond Access is focused on increasing access to theatre and dance performances for disabled audiences. In Italy, our partner Oriente Occidente have been working to engage the Deaf community in their region.

Watch the trailer below for their highly anticipated premiere, A peep show for Cinderella, by La Ribalta Theater (a company of predominantly disabled performers). Find out more about the performance here.

Over the last few years, Oriente Occidente Dance Festival have also been incorporating the use of SubPacs to enhance the experience of live shows for audiences.

This innovative technology provides a physical experience of sound through the combination of electronics and textiles.

Of the three shows that will have SubPacs available, one is the national premiere of C’est pas grave from Francesco Colaleo and Maxime Freixas. Find out the full details of these performances here.
