Commission: We Are Not Monsters

Led by Dalibor Šandor, a Serbian learning disabled performer and director, ‘We Are Not Monsters’ is a powerful performance commissioned through Europe Beyond Access that challenges the marginalisation and discrimination experienced by disabled people in society.

Made with support from renowned French choreographer Xavier Le Roy, dramaturg Marcel Bugiel, Per.Art and a team of creatives (full list below), this performance emerged from Šandor’s love of the horror genre as well as an urgent need to address the social exclusion of disabled people and misunderstandings about disability.

This is a unique piece of theatre presented amongst the historic paintings of an art gallery (its premiere took place in Gallery of Matica Srpska, Novi Sad).

Available for bookings from 2021.
